The field of self-healing and its high public visibility provide an excellent forum for motivating students and developing educational activities.  With the support of the Beckman Institute, the Autonomic Material Systems Group has already developed a successful educational demonstration of self-healing materials for the general public that was invited to the 2005 Wired NextFest at Chicago Navy Pier.
